I had this music stuck on my head, playing in the background, for the past 3 days … (English translation is by me, and not sure if it catches all the subtle nuances of the original Portuguese version)

já nao como, já nao durmo — I no longer eat, neither do I sleep
e eu caia se te minto! — And may I fall if I lie!
havera gente informada — maybe there are people who will know
se é amor isto que eu sinto? — if it is love, this, that I feel?

Quero o meu primeiro beijo, — I want my first kiss,
não quero ficar impune, — I don’t want to be left out,
e dizer-te cara a cara: — and to tell you face to face:
“muito mais é o que nos une — “much more is what bind us
que aquilo que nos separa!” — then the things that splits us apart!”

Promete lá outro encontro, — Promise me another date,
foi tão fogaz que nem deu — it was so flimsy, not enough,
para ver como era o fogo — I wanna see how is the fire
que a tua boca prometeu. — that your mouth promised me.
pensava que a tua lingua — I had though that your tongue
sabia a flor do jasmim, — tasted like the jasmine flower,
sabe a chicla de mentol — after all it taste like mint gum
e eu gosto dela assim! — and I like it just as it is!
