I don’t like shopping nor do I care much about fashion… however, being in SL somehow awaken in me a new perspective of myself…

So, I do like shopping and I do like fashion to a certain extent… eh, go figure… anyway… my babe’s a expert shopper and helps me out picking out nice pieces that blend well together. Since there aren’t many good male shopping advices out there, I thought I’d give it a go. So, here’s my 5 cents.

My Top 15 :: Most Expensive

‘Cuz I like to keep track and I had this post in draft form for quite some time… here it goes, my 15 most expensive bought in SL as up to late July, 2008 :

And yes, as you will see, I don’t buy many expensive things and I tend to be quite careful with what I buy… doesn’t always works though. After all, I’m just a honest hard working SL resident, with two part time jobs and with no payment records on his account… so, all this was bought with the labor of my … err… virtual sweat.

GL Justin Goatee @ Good Life :: 1700L$

My Skin – Nice ‘lifetime’ buy, good quality, nice detail, lovely goatee and it looks really good (if you don’t mind me saying so)… too bad I keep hiding it under tons of clothes.

Abranimations Break Dance HUD @ Abranimations :: 750L$

I like this one. Its different and its funky, a great solo dancing animation with multiple choices and combo moves. I rarely use it as most times I go dancing I do have the pleasure of having company… so I only end up using this when I’m alone and normally at places I don’t know… go figure…

Lotus Cock Evolution Gold 3.1 @ Midnight Lotus :: 579L$

Err… well… A man needs to be a man… and what’s a man without its ‘tool’? Eheh, anyway… works like a charm *smirks*

Sweet Dreams Bed – Asian @ Cavathor ::550L$

My asian bed that lovely dominates my bedroom in my skybox. It does what its meant for… even if it hasn’t done it in a long long time. Looks nice though.

Ah, these one are cool! Awesome shoes. Expensive, yes… but awesome ones!!! Love them!

Xenomorph 1.2 @ Ink Inc. :: 450L$

These ones are really cool too. My current tattoos with a Xenomorph theme going on (the alien from the movie Alien). They are very detailed and they don’t look like an overkill, so its a great balance, a theme I love, and it looks really impressive over my impressive skin (ok, now I’m gloating).

Ok… an example of rushed shopping. Not that the dog tags don’t look good, but I read the ad wrong and got upset later on. Eh, oh well… you win some wars, you lose some… but at least I got the dogtags to prove it? hmm… oh well, too much sun I guess…

One of my many suits. This one, apparently, was the most expensive, but its a very nice and a classy piece indeed. Well worth it! Lots of detail and it suits like a glove and can clearly notice its handcrafted!

My AO (animation override). I love this one. It was cheap and it looks very cool. I’ve added and tweaked it a bit with 2 or 3 other animations but in its core its still the Bishounen it was when I bought it. Great purchase and from my favourite store in SL !!

Male LaceUp’s Red-Brown @ Awori Cassini :: 275L$

Another fine pair of shoes. They were expensive when I bought them but they look really good. Sadly, I have little to no suits or outfits that go with them… hmm… oh well…

Colt Mid length/red @ Muism :: 250L$

One of my latest hair cuts I got. Its nice, I like it. More expensive then my usual barber, but that’s ok, ‘cuz I finally figured out how to change the hue of it!! So all is good now

Z#Blazer_[Red] @ Z# :: 200L$

Another suit. Nice cut. Clean. Nice look. Nothing much to say. Does what its meant to do.

523 Sunglasses V1.03 @ D2TK :: 200L$

This ones were a awesome find. One of the best good looking shades I’ve seen in SL so far. Not expensive at all, great design and tons, but really tons of nice features to tweak with that can really make these sunglasses look awesome and distinct from all others. Excellent buy.

Classic Lace-up Shoes @ Mako Magellean :: 200L$

Another pair of shoes. These ones I’ve never used … they looked good on the picture… they don’t look good on your feet… and they are no mod either which is really awkward from prim shoes.

ps: I need to add new stuff to this list, since I’ve been adding some more stuff since August…

a place to build a dream on

Last night was good.

Despite all the RL interruptions and all the virtual ones as well, we (me and Summer) ended up having fun together and a nice quality time together. Besides chatting, we went to listen to the wonderful music of Pa DaCosta and then we ended up taking a few looks at prefab houses and found a few that really looked good. And we could already picture how well it would look, furnished and warmed up with personal touches here and there…

Eh, still on the to do projects lists, but here’s a pic of the house that, so far, we’re intending to buy and plant at Summer’s beach to make it our own home, sweet home. Looks quite good. Ample. Wide open windows, two nice floors, nice asymmetry architecture, nice balconies… perhaps lacking a bit on the walls-for-picture-hanging department, but so far, that’s the only downside and there are ways around it.

My latest toy

I’ve been making quite some good money in SL, working at Sweets and writing for FreeLife mag, but I haven’t been spending much… which means that I never had so much money in my virtual account as this week! Yay for me! So, anyway, having money is good and all, but buying funky and cool stuff is much more fun then just having a fat account

Hence, and after an interesting Summer development, I decided it was time to buy one of those neat gadgets I’d seen before but never really had the need (or the money) to afford back in a while.

A Couples Animator!

There are several in the market and, as usual, I spent some time looking around, checking prices and features, from different vendors. Eventually I narrow it down to 2 and… after reading carefully the info provided by both creators about their gadgets I decided that the sheer amount of animations and possibility to customize was a far better trade off then the interesting (in paper) features the other one add and its lower price… So I head down to Abranimations and bleeded out the money (995L$) for their Couple’s Animator HUD (v.3).

I really get uncomfortable paying so much money for one single object gadget… BUT, Abranimations have a great name, and I had bought some stuff from them before so… I kind of expected it to work and to be good.

So what’s the final veredict?

Well, it was worth it! 70+ couples animations is really ALOT!! The HUD is simple enough to use, though with so many animations it maybe get annoying to navigate around searching for them. On the other hand you can use chat commands to trigger them, so… once I get familiarized with the thingy that should pose no problem! In all truth, I will never use all the animations provided – unless very kinky stuff happens – but it doesn’t really matter, because I really got a ton of things I can do now with this baby now and some of them are really really cool !! ^_^

Plus, you can also customize it and add more animations which is just brilliant !!

My only regret is that some of the couple animations don’t really stuck one avatar to the other, ie: like the carrying around, or holding the other avatar in your arms … so you can’t walk around with them, and in that sense its a bit static. But otherwise, its really neat. Nice fluid animations, you can hold them as long as you want and stop them when you want. As normal, some don’t exactly match, either avie height difference, or not perfectly aligned, and you can’t use it on ‘no-scripts allowed’ sims, but that would happen with any animator so…

In conclusion: 5 out of 5 stars !! I’m really happy with it

I seriously recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a very good couple animator !!
